The idea of MopedU came to Bryan and Josh in the middle of 2010 after seeing the need at the University of Iowa. By March 2011 rental mopeds were on the street. It was apparent that students were tired of the old ways of getting around campus (walking, taxis, buses etc.) because there weren’t enough mopeds to go around. They needed more help to provide great service and brought on Tommy Le. Quickly the rental fleet doubled and people wanted to get their personal mopeds fixed or wanted to buy their own. The rest is history in Iowa City.
It was decided in June of 2012 that Fayetteville would be the 2nd location for MopedU. After assembling a list of top potential cities with universities near them, a campus crawl road trip was in order. A few stops were made before getting to Fayetteville. Once they got into tow, they all recognized the popularity of scooters and the potential Fayetteville had to offer. We knew our business would be beneficial to current and future scooter owners. It took us almost a year, but we opened up shop April 2013. Scooters started selling immediately but the best feeling was when our customers tell us “Thanks” for opening up. A lot of them have had bad experiences at the other dealerships or bad deals on craigslist. We love that our business is helping people gain peace of mind from scooter ownership and hopefully raising the bar for the other guys in town. We invite you to stop in anytime to check out our store and speak with our staff about any issue or question you have.
